I choose this website because it is a provider of network cabling and offers a variety of cabling solutions from unshielded twisted pair cabling to single and multi-mode cabling. It describes the different infrastructures they can build and install and describe the physical and performance differences each can and will provide. This website even has diagrams that can show a shopper the physical makeup and layout of different cabling systems so that even someone with almost no knowledge of networking can understand how these systems will work and how different cables are implemented and how they function internally. They offer assistance in designing network cabling layouts and offer professional help in aiding businesses figure out what information and network technology solutions will work best for their type of business. They also do installation and offer a variety of services that can aid any company is designing network structures. They even have downloadable spec sheets as well as other information resources that anyone can access for information. This site seems to be a good place to gather information and a good place to start in designing proper and well-installed networks that can be upgraded easily in the future depending on business and networking growth.

I choose this website because it is a good place to look at different reviews on different brands and kinds of printers which can help you decide on which would work the best for you and provide the most benefit for the most affordable price. It also holds reviews for laptops, desktops, tablet PCs, cellphones, and digital cameras and it very comprehensive and gives you more information that you could almost ever need. You can go do a sublink which is located at URL: http://www.printercomparison.com/search/ which is a guide that explains what the different kinds of printers are known for (dye sublimation, inkjet, laser, solid ink) and allows you to choose a category so that all the printers you see from that point on will be from that one category only. At that point you can look at different brands, speeds, capabilities and prices to choose which is the right one for you. This site appears to show unbiased information that was received from regular consumers (as in the reviews) and information from the manufacturers as well (in regards to actual specifics with components and such). You can even perform a search option so that you can see reviews on a printer you may already have or were planning to purchase.

This site is a technology store that offers all kinds of different input and output devices from computer components such as speakers, scanners, networking equipment, audio, video, adapters, etc. You can find almost anything computer component here that you can think of and if you can’t find it you can e-mail the technology team that runs the website and they will see if they can find somewhere for you to purchase the part(s) from. This site is a good way to look at and compare different models and brands of computer products and a good way to learn about different input/output devices that are available out there which numbers in the thousands. Sites like this one are a great way to learn about what is out there in regards to computers, although this particular website is much more geared towards Mac’s and Apple products versus PC products. You can, however, find many sites just like this one that offers the same services for PC products and those from more generic brands. You can even rent equipment through this site to test it out first before committing to buying which is another plus for those that are not fully computer savvy or for those just wishing to try out different components to see how they would work with their system.

I choose this website because it can be a valuable tool I believe in assisting you to see if you have enough RAM in your system to achieve the things you want or need to be able to do with your computing system. This site can run a diagnostic tool on your computer that will tell you exactly what kind of RAM you have, what condition it is in, how much you have and how much of it is being used to run the processes that your computer needs to run. This tool can give you some great advice on what you could do to dramatically speed up your system. With many systems, as it is explained in our textbook, the CPU processing power is more than enough for the programs and things you need to run on your computer but a lot of times what slows down your system or even crashes it is that there is not enough primary memory (RAM) to keep your CPU supplied with the information it needs to run your system and to keep it processing at an appropriate speed. This tool can help you see if how much or what kind of RAM your system uses is what is making your system appear to not be running at its optimal best and this site also has a store where you can purchase RAM (and the site will tell you exactly what kind your computer needs to run or can run when you run the diagnostic tool). I believe that this site and its tools can be very beneficial in testing and upgrading your system speed.

This website contains separate benchmark lists (which are basically lists of different hardware, software components that they tested to measure their performance capabilities) for different kinds of CPU’s designed for servers and workstations (Intel Xeon and AMD Opteron processors), desktop CPUs (Intel Core2 Quad, Intel Core i7, Intel Core2 Extreme and AMD Phenom II processors), in addition to mobile CPUs. It also lists different benchmarks for hyperthreaded CPU’s as well as single or multi-core versions and compares different brands such as AMD and Intel. This site also has other benchmark lists for video cards, hard drives, system and even security reports which are good places to go to if you are interested in searching for replacement or upgrade components or if you are interested in building your own computer. You can also buy normal maintenance equipment as well as professional maintenance equipment for your computer components on this website’s online store and post in its forums to have questions you may have answered through other persons/customers that go unto the website as well as by professionals that work for the site. This site can be a powerful researching tool when it comes to several computer components.

This site is the main site for the Unicode Consortium which was developed in 1991 by several computer companies to develop a multilingual character-encoding standard that will work with all written languages. This site contains historical information that describes the process that was worked through to develop the different standards they created, including the latest which is Unicode 5.2.0. All relevant information about this new code is detailed on this site showing what additions were added to the code. Guidelines for using the code as well as basic information describing how the code works and what can now be done with it is also on this site. All in all this site is a great source about character coding and what the future could bring to even further the codes already in place. The fact that all written languages will be and mostly are already included in this code means that the computing age literally has now become a worldwide phenomenon in which anyone from any culture can become a part of. There is no longer a need for people to have to learn the English language or other more European languages to be able to use computers and their applications...now anyone anywhere can become part of what people call this age, the second industrial revolution.

This website is the main IBM site that lists the different mainframe servers that IBM currently has out and lists all the details of those servers from their output capacity to the processor and memory capabilities of their different servers. I choose this website because it is a good site to look at what current mainframes (servers) can do and what their capacities are. The topic of mainframes is covered under page 35 in out textbook and it describes the mainframe computer systems are those that can handle the information-processing needs of large numbers of users and applications. Mainframes can handle huge amounts of data and are able to transfer these large amounts of data very quickly with differentiates them from microcomputers and midrange computers. I thought this website was a good way to learn more about mainframes and to see just how large their capacities are from other types of computers.
